L.I.F.E. Groups
We have organized LIFE (Living In Faith Every day) groups for any interested partners and friends of Spirit of Joy. LIFE groups meet twice a month and offer you the opportunity to gather with others for conversation, study, service, and prayer. For more information, contact Pastor Jeff Eisele at 333-2004.
Children's Sunday School
During the school year, Sunday School for children age 3 through 6th grade meets each Sunday morning from 10-11 a.m. All children are welcome!
Confirmation Class
Our Confirmation class for youth in grades 7-10 meets on Wednesdays from 6:45-8:00 p.m.
New Member Classes
All persons interested in becoming a part of Spirit of Joy's ministry are asked to attend a new member Discovery Class. This gathering includes a look at what it means to follow Jesus as Lutheran Christians, an overview of the mission, vision, and core values of Spirit of Joy, and an opportunity to get better acquainted with others taking this step. To indicate your interest in attending a future class, please complete a guest response card in worship, or call or email Pastor Jeff Eisele (333-2004 or jeffeisele@spiritofjoy.net).
Community Outreach
Mission of the Month
Each month Spirit of Joy chooses either a local or global concern to support with special gifts and/or time offering. Friends and partners of Spirit of Joy have been able to serve breakfast at The Banquet several times during the past few years in downtown Sioux Falls.
Evangelistic Ministries
Joyful Harvest
Partners and friends of Spirit of Joy have participated in a "Joyful Harvest" over the past few years. On a seasonal basis, we hang bags on the doors of our neighbors containing a small gift, an invitation to our activities, and information about Christian education events.
Men's Ministries
Men's Breakfast and Bible Study
Men in our community of faith gather on Thursdays at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast, conversation, and Bible study.
Missions Support
Global Missions
Spirit of Joy is sponsoring missionary Nicole Becker in her work in Namibia, in southwest Africa. Nicole is a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Huron and is a graduate of SDSU. She has been teaching science at the Oshigambo Lutheran High School in Ondangwa, Namibia, since January 2005. Please remember Nicole in your prayers.
Music Ministries
Spirit of Joy Choir
Spirit of Joy's choir practices on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. to prepare special music offerings for Sunday morning worship (during the school year only). All interested singers are welcome!
