Mission Center Ministries

We realize there's not a whole lot of time left over after a busy work week for doing much volunteer work, but if you do find yourself with a even a few hours to spare, SOJ has several Mission Center Ministries that require just 2 or 3 hours of time per month:

• Weed Pullers - During the summer months the SOJ Gardens and area landscaping need lots of attention. If you prefer the appearance of weedless landscaping and gardens, please go ahead and start weeding and place your discarded weeds in the compost bin near the Community Garden.
• Garden Workers - If you actually know something about gardening or are least willing to learn, Sharon and our expansive Prayer Gardens could use some extra hands. Sharon can usually be found in the garden between services if you'd like to know more about how you can help...
• Gopher Removers - Yes, they're cute. Yes, they're God's creatures, but gophers just are not helpful to our gardens and we would like them relocated. If you have an idea that would help us in this matter, please present your plan of action to Sharon. You can usually find her in the garden between services.
• Fountain Cleaners - During the summer months the SOJ fountains need cleaning; however due to the potential of serious injury, fountain cleaning requires a some training. If you prefer to see our fountains free of the "green slime" during the hot summer months, please contact: daryl@spiritofjoy.net
• Wednesday Workers - On Wednesday evenings during the school year, SOJ volunteers prepare a meal for those participating in the mid-week SOJ activities. If you have restaurant experience or just like to help in the kitchen then this is the place for you.
• Digital Photographers - If you have a talent for taking photos and can attend onsite and offsite SOJ ministry events, we would love to have your images. There are "sensativities" to consider at times, so if you are interested in documenting an event with images, please contact: daryl@spiritofjoy.net
