Early in our history we began sponsoring an ELCA missionary, and we continue to do so.

Spirit of Joy will be providing financial support in the amount of $2000 in 2008 for Mark and Marcia Holman who are currently serving in Jerusalem. Mark is serving as pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jerusalem and Marcia is working with special education in Lutheran-related schools in Palestine.

Spirit of Joy partners can support the ministry of Mark and Marcia with prayers, writing letters and remembering special times with cards, letters and remembrances. Their address and e-mail is available in the church office.

We’ve also sent two mission teams to the Pine Ridge Retreat Center, and hope to make these trips a regular part of our community life.
