Action Items Update – 4/6/2008

1. Equipping Ministries – Daryl

A. Update
Daryl & his team continue to administer & collect the spiritual gifts surveys. They have received approximately forty of them so far. The next step is to meet with each survey participant one-on-one. The survey can be completed online through the SOJ web site via the Equipping Ministries web page. It is very easy; please consider doing so if you haven’t already. Daryl is attending an equipping ministry conference in Phoenix, AZ the week of April 14th.

B. Purpose & job descriptions of team sub-groups.
For those of you that have been asked to complete job descriptions for your sub-team, please try to complete them as soon as possible. I have attached a blank job description worksheet for your convenience.

2. Building:
A. Baseboard in Pastor’s closet – Dick
B. Banner storage – Daryl
C. HVAC/insulation issues – Dale
Dale & Joel met with Craig Kramer, Jans Superintendent, about the insulation issues. Craig/Jans agreed to correct the problems in the areas identified. We will want to pay close attention during construction of the new addition to ensure a similar problem doesn’t occur again.

3. Grounds - Daryl
The contract with Dan Drew to do the mission center, field & boulevard mowing has been renewed. The confirmation class is planning to do some outside cleanup as part of a service project. A spring workday will probably be scheduled sometime in May. Daryl is organizing a volunteer group to do most of the garden & landscaping maintenance this year. The hope is that each volunteer will be responsible for a specific area & they can do the work on their own time/schedule.

4. Technology – Greg/Ray
The lapel mic has a short & will need to be repaired.

5. Building Team – Phil
Jans has submitted a contract for the project. It is very similar to the original one. Ground breaking will be April 13th. The building team will be meeting on Mon, April 14th to give the sub-teams some additional direction.

6. Building Addition Financing – Fred/Joel/Phil
Mission Investment’s proposal was selected to finance the project. MIF agreed to maintain the first mortgagee at 3% while financing the second at 6.5%. The net interest rate is under 5% which is very good. A commitment letter has been signed & initial fee submitted. Daryl & Phil are collecting a number of items to complete the loan. We are also requesting that the performance bond be waived like the first time.

7. Safe Haven/Abuse Prevention Policy – Daryl/Mike
Work continues on the rough draft.

8. Web site – Ray/Marin/Scott/Stacey
Scott continues to update the web site with new & fresh information.

9. Audit Team – Joel
Joel & Tracy are making contacts to put an audit team together to review the 2007 books.
