Leadership Team President-Elect
Position Purpose
The Leadership Team President-Elect, while learning and preparing for the role of President, will initiate programs for the development of good stewardship attitudes in members of the congregation, ensuring the financial stability of the congregation and its work through a developed program of dedicated and proportionate giving. The Leadership Team President-Elect will work with other team members to provide spiritual direction to the congregation, develop and direct the vision for our future, and oversee the yearly distribution of congregational funds.

Ministry Description
- Study biblical principles regarding stewardship.
- Foster awareness of biblical principles regarding the total stewardship call of every Christian and share these insights with partners.
- Educate congregation about tithing and giving based on biblical principles.
- Examine, analyze, and summarize stewardship plans for the church.
- Develop a short-range stewardship plan, mainly focusing on the current and upcoming fiscal years.
- Assist with planning long range goals and objectives for effective uses of congregational funds.
- Annually, give all partners the opportunity to make a commitment of their time, talent, and treasure for God’s work through the congregation.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget.
- Serve as a liaison between ministry teams that carry out financial responsibilities, the Leadership Team, and congregation.
- Prepare written reports for the Leadership Team and congregational meetings.
- Maintain records of stewardship and planning reports to be used by your successor.
- Provide partners with assistance in programs for endowments, remembrances of congregation in wills, bequests, etc.
- Plan and organize stewardship events, such as wills and estate planning seminars and similar workshops.
- Perform all duties of the Leadership Team President in the absence of the President.
- Serve on the Executive Committee.
- Attend all Congregational, Leadership Team and Executive Committee meetings.
- Maintain records to be used by your successor.
Time requirements
Leadership Team meets once a month. Executive Committee meets at least once annually. Annual Congregational meeting is held in November. The Leadership Team holds a one-day retreat once or twice a year. The time commitment is approximately 15-20 hours per month.
Term
The Leadership President-Elect serves for two years, the first year as President-Elect and the second year as President of the Leadership Team.
Training/Resources
- Serve as assistant to preceding Finance Team Leader.
- Attend local or long-distance classes on biblical stewardship.
- Attend financial planning and related workshops and seminars.
- Work closely with the President and Leadership Team to prepare for the position of President.

The Leadership President-Elect will gain a better understanding of the church and will find personal satisfaction while serving in this leadership capacity. The President-Elect will also have the pleasure of working with and forming friendships with other members of the congregation. Also, developing communication, interpersonal, and management skills, the President-Elect will grow spiritually and find a deeper appreciation for the concern, care, and Christian love for the church, the congregation and the community.
